Main Street is a grassroots, volunteer-driven program, and they need you to help get things going.  Are you interested in any of the following committees?
  • Business Recruitment: Committee members will work on a number of projects, including creating a recruitment packet, identifying and speaking with potential business owners, and conducting a market study. With a number of vacant storefronts on the boulevard there is a lot of opportunity to shape the character of the district—what we need are some people with good business sense to help start the process.
  • Design: The Design Committee helps encourage physical improvements to the district. This includes reviewing façade grant applications as well as projects such as banners, hanging baskets, or trees. People with a background in architecture or art and design are encouraged to join, as well as anyone else interested in helping the district to look the best it can.  This committee will also work on keeping Pigtown clean and safe for the benefit of both shoppers and residents. People with an interest in preventing crime and keeping the commercial district free of trash should consider being a part of this important Main Street group.
  • Promotion: The purpose of this committee is to promote Pigtown’s commercial district through creative marketing, public relations, advertising, and events. If you have a background in any of these areas or are just plain enthusiastic about Pigtown and want to get involved, the Promotion Committee would love to have you.
  • Organization:  This committee helps keep Pigtown Main Street going.  It facilitates the non-profit business side, including fundraising, merchandise, and a recap of the work that all of the committees are doing.
